This week in our Basic Safety we had a practice on how to properly enter a building on fire with a fire hose. First check the ANCI if it already connected to the fire hydrant, next is to step or check if you are going to be tripped by something inside the building, then put the NAKAGIMA on a foam state and attack the fire while ducking.

My Circuiting Card Catalog
In this week i learned about the card catalog but today known as 'Online Public Access Catalog' (OPAC), it is an index to all the books, videos, slides, sound filmstrips, and records in the library.
There are three main types of cards in the card catalog: author, title, and subject. An author card has the author's name on the top line of the card. A title card has the title on the top line of the card.
A subject card has the SUBJECT IN CAPITAL LETTERS on the top line of the card.
We also tackled about some circuit connections, there are two types of connection: series and parallel.
When you connect a curcuit in series the flow of electricity will flow through the lightbulbs it passes. If one of the bulb goes out the other will stop lighting. On the other hand in the parallel connection if one light bulb die the other will still operate.
We also discussed the Ohm's Law. When a microscopic view of Ohm's law is taken, it is found to depend upon the fact that the drift velocity of charges through the material is proportional to the electric field in the conductor. The ratio of voltage to current is called the resistance, and if the ratio is constant over a wide range of voltages, the material is said to be an "ohmic" material.
This Ohm's Law have the formula of I=V/R which I stands for Electric current, V stands for Voltage and R stands for Resistance.

New Words of Wisdom
In this second semester of NTMA we already have many "ritual" to make before eating like after the prayer the S.C.O.D. will have to say "take sit" just then we may eat our food.
On the second week of the second semester Sir. Jhunbie Serna or as we call him the Head of the CAO told us that we will recite the honor system before eating our meals.

What I have learned?
I learned that we really need basic safety to be aware in terms of emergency. I thought that there is only only one kind extinguisher but there is six of them.
I even learned to enhance my thinking ability to imagine a design for our machine shop. Even if onboard ship there is no specific parts that is needed we can make out of something in scrap metals.
